Editorial: We need Jesus

A pandemic and racial unrest are tearing the United States and the world apart.
But despite all the bad news in the world, we have Good News and that Good News has a name — Jesus Christ.
The justice and judgment we seek comes from God.
He is in control. Judgement is His job, not ours.
For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body. - 2 Corinthians 5:10
We must put our hope in Jesus. He will work things out for our best.
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. - Jeremiah 29:11
People say, “Prayers are not enough anymore. It’s time for action.”
The power of prayer is the strongest power given to man.
Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. - James 5:16
A lot of people are pointing to politicians to save them. Even more look to scientists to save them with a vaccine.
He controls the course of world events;
he removes kings and sets up other kings.
He gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to the scholars. - Daniel 2:21
Some say, we can’t wait on God, we have to take action.
Wait patiently for the Lord.
    Be brave and courageous.
Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. - Psalm 27:14
We humans like to be in control. We don’t like it when things are out of control. We want to fix everything. But some things we just can’t fix.
We have no control over getting sick or death. One person could exercise every day and have the best body mass index, but die at 40 years old. Another person might smoke and drink every day and live until they’re 100 years old.
God gives us a brain and wants us to take precautions, but ultimately he numbers our hours in this world.
You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed. - Psalm 139:16
We have no control over a man’s heart, racism and riots. Jesus is the best heart doctor.
And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. - Ezekiel 36:26
We are responsible for our own actions and should strive to meet God’s standard.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. - Romans 12:2
We can make the world a better place by being a better person in it. We can’t change another’s heart. We can’t cure disease. Only Jesus can do that.
He’s our hope.
Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. - Hebrews 10:23
God’s promise, everlasting life through His Son ...
When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. - John 14:3
Want to change the world? Seek the Kingdom of God.
Seek the Kingdom of Go above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. - Matthew 6:33
