A Day To Support Law Enforcement

South Carolina Lt. Governor Pamela Evette comes to Destination Sports in Laurens County on Oct. 18 in support of the 9th Annual Memorial Ride to benefit the Deputy Roger Ride Ride-on Fund. She reads the names of Law Enforcement Officers lost in the line of duty from the past year, as part of a brief flags-posting ceremony. The event is in honor of all our fallen officers. Laurens County Deputy Roger Rice Jr. was killed in the line of duty arresting a domestic violence suspect; the interchange of I-26 at Hwy 56 in Clinton is named for him. Evette brings a message endorsed by Gov. Henry McMaster that in an era of social justice concerns nationwide, South Carolina will never lose sight of the need for police in all communities. Sheriff Don Reynolds and Laurens Mayor Nathan Senn also make brief remarks in support of the message. - Photos by Vic MacDonald
